Ripple Joined by Former White House Advisor as Board Member

Ripple’s Director of Developer Relations – Matt Hamilton – announced his departure due to personal issues. On the other hand, the blockchain firm appointed Michael Warren as the newest member of its Board of Directors. The American has previously served as Senior Advisor in the White House during the Obama administration.

Hiring Former White House Advisor

It is not all gloomy news for Ripple. According to a separate announcement, the blockchain organization welcomed Michael Warren on its Board of Directors. The latter has over 20 years of experience advising clients on economic and geopolitical issues.

He is also the Managing Director of Albright Stonebridge Group, where he consults investors and companies on how to operate their businesses, complying with existing regulatory requirements.

Warren was also part of the White House Presidential Personnel Office during President Barack Obama’s mandate, serving on the Audit Committee.

Ripple raised hopes that via Warren’s appointment, the company will expand its presence in international markets and obtain good relations with global financial watchdogs.

“I’m excited to join Ripple at such a pivotal moment in history, both for the company as well as crypto at large. I have long admired the tenacity shown by Ripple and its management team, using regulatory setbacks in the U.S. as an opportunity to pioneer crypto regulation for the benefit of industry innovation and establish an equal playing field for all.

I look forward to being a part of Ripple’s efforts to move the needle forward on crypto regulation while the company further solidifies its position as a leader in global finance and the digital economy,” the American stated.

Not Without Hiccups

Matt Hamilton – top developer at Ripple – revealed his wife is currently going through some health issues, and he needs more time to support her. As such, the American disclosed his resignation from his position. He thanked the company, which has been “amazingly supportive” towards him throughout the tough times:

“Ripple has been amazingly supportive through all this time, both on a personal and a professional level. However, despite all the support, it has become clear I am spinning too many plates. So I’m going to be stepping down from my role at Ripple to focus on supporting my family and helping my wife recover.”

Even though he is no longer part of Ripple’s family, Hamilton will stay involved in the XRP Ledger community to a “lesser degree for a while.”
